My name is Marina Uher, and I am the Co-Chair of the Student Committee at South Suburban Parks and Recreation Professional Association (SSPRPA). SSPRPA brings together park districts and recreation agencies throughout Chicago’s south suburban metropolitan area.
Joining SSPRPA is a great opportunity for students to connect with professionals in the field, learn about the many career paths available in parks and recreation, and share their own ideas and perspectives. Student membership is completely free! Register here: https://south-suburban-parks-and-recreation-professional-association.square.site/
SSPRPA offers a variety of committees that allow members to explore different areas of the profession, including Active Seniors, Athletics, Special Recreation, and Student Engagement.
In addition, the SSPRPA Student Committee is excited to offer two scholarship opportunities this year, https://www.ssprpa.org/student:
- $500 Undergraduate Scholarship
- $500 Graduate Scholarship
We encourage students interested in parks and recreation to take advantage of these opportunities to connect, learn, and grow professionally.
We hope you’ll consider joining SSPRPA and getting involved!
Best regards,
