I am an alum of St. Francis, graduating from the Social Work program in 1991.
I am also the Camp Director at Shady Oaks Camp for People with disabilities, located in Homer Glen, IL.
We are a half hour drive from the campus!
For any local students this would be ideal, but we have staff coming from all around the world, so anyone is welcome, regardless of where they live. This is a residential camp, so room and board is provided, along with a salary.
I am looking for one more person to round out our three person team to lead our camp activity program for the summer of 2026! If you know of a student that might be interested in spending the summer at an amazing camp, please let me know. We have more male campers than female, so if there is a male student that you think could apply, that would be great. This gives our campers representation, which is important!
We are also looking for general counselors, which would also give your students an amazing, hands on experience with people with disabilities! The attached flyer has information on both jobs, but I am more than happy to talk more with you about the possibilities!
