		BASIC FUNCTION
	Outreach Event Seasonal Intern assist the Education and Outreach section by planning, execution, and staffing District Outreach events and services.
		ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
	Reports to:                        Education and Outreach Supervisor
	Supervises:                         None
	Works Closely With:        Community Outreach and Partnership Coordinator
	Peer Event Assistants
	                                             Permit Administrator
	                                             Permit Administrator Assistant
	                                             Operations Staff and Police
		ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in event planning and preparations working under the guidance of the Community Outreach and Partnership Coordinator
 - Complete event preparations by way of purchases, creating materials, arranging for equipment, and working with District staff.
 - Staff District Preserve Events including event set-up and take-down, event signage, facilitation of activities, and on-site evaluation.
 - Staff Community/Partner Events, Facility Events and select Non-District events.
 - Perform office duties including: research and compile information, assemble materials, data entry, etc.
 - Enact select on-the-ground publicity strategies to promote events in keeping with the EO marketing plan.
 - Organize event storage areas and assist with program inventory.
 - Perform other duties as assigned.

 - Able to complete project assignments with reasonable guidance
 - Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
 - Ability to participate in project and event planning
 - Competent computer skills utilizing MS Office and related software
 - Willingness to work weekdays, weekends and evenings as required for programs and events
 - Willingness to drive throughout the Will County area as required for assigned duties
 
		TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
	Minimum Requirement:                High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
	Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of accredited college or university studying recreation, sports management, hospitality, biology, education or related field
	Valid Illinois driver’s license
	Preferred Experience:                    Bilingual is a plus
		WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

	Manual Dexterity:            Ability to move between sitting, standing, walking for 6 -10 hours

	Schedule:                            Expected to work 700 hours over the 7 month season: April – October 2016
	Average of 24 hours per week
